Remix and Refresh Your Home
Let’s face it, at some point we must all face the reality that it's time to refresh our space. Be it a kitchen, bath, or any other space. Its design aesthetic eventually becomes outdated and will surely need an update. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, many were forced to work from home. This time made way for people to remain in their space and experience the environment which they’ve created only to realize it may not be as comfy, cozy, or as stylish as they’d envisioned. Like they say in the fashion industry, “One day you're in, the next day…You're Out!”
The Continuous Evolution of Style
In the past, you may have loved bursts of color, textured patterns, and popcorn ceilings even (yes, that was a thing.) But, now the look you desire has changed from traditional to contemporary, modern or muted; you are not the same person when you made your decorating decision but…your room is the same. It may be time for you to get your space caught to your present-day vibes and desires for comfort at home.
Your Home is Your Sanctuary…All of It!
You should feel comfortable in every room of your home. But, if you find yourself secluded in the bathroom or only delighting in your kitchen space…there’s a problem. You may need to upgrade your living space. It could be because it’s just too outdated or maybe suffers from old design trends that are loud and busy. If this is the case in your situation, it may be time to mix things up.
Sit Back and Relax?
Still not comfortable in your space? It may not be the stylish accessories, layout, or even paint color; it could be the furniture that is making the space “uncomfortable”. The proper seating is a must for any living area, so take the time to find aliving room sofa oraccent chair that provides both style and support. You’ll thank yourself the next time you sit down to watch a movie or read a book.
The living room is a multi-functional space and there will be times when you want the room to be dim (while watching TV, for example), and there will be times when you’ll want to welcome in more light. A simple solution, along with overhead lighting is to add accent or task lighting with lamps or wall sconces. Not only do they help you control the light, but they also add a decorative touch. If you want total control over the light in your living room, install a dimmer switch to maximize the light and enhance the ambiance of the space.
If you are going out of your way to keep your guests from seeing your living room, or any room for that matter, because you are embarrassed about the way it looks - it’s time for an upgrade. Your living room furniture and accents should reflect the kind of person you are. Your living room should contain the things that make you feel comfortable…feel at home. It can be overwhelming to redesign an entire room, so start small. Pinpoint the areas in your current design that you don’t like, such as specific pieces or paint colors. Try to replace or refresh those pieces bit by bit and before you know it, you’ll have a brand new space that reflects you.
